Harmony day – everyone belongs

Our multi-cultural school community celebrated harmony day with a delicious food fest. Nana Joan gave a welcome to country, Uncle Clive played the didgeridoo and our parents and carers provided foods from around the world for us to share. The children all placed a sticker on the world map to show their country of origin. The theme for harmony day was “everyone belongs”. Mount Isa Central included a special anti-bullying focus into harmony day. The children learned that “it’s uncool to be cruel.” Harmony day culminated in a sky of orange, as the children flew their kites to symbolise the harmony of our community.
